Houlahan Grills Hegseth on Women in Military Roles During Lethality Hearing
The VictoryTV segment presents a July 2025 House hearing exchange between Rep. Chrissy Houlahan (D-PA, Air Force veteran) and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth. Houlahan pressed for yes/no answers on whether men and women are capable of lethality through triggers, drones, missiles, and piloting, arguing that only about 10% of military personnel engage in direct combat while 90% provide enabling support roles. She quoted Hegseth's prior statements that women are "lifegivers" not suited for combat and that including them has not increased effectiveness or lethality. Hegseth avoided direct yes/no answers on some questions, cited physical differences in carrying equipment, and emphasized maintaining high, equal standards for the 10% in combat roles. The host commentary strongly supports Houlahan, criticizes Hegseth's responses as evasive, and argues modern warfare values diverse skills over a homogeneous "6'3, 225 lb Christian male" archetype. It notes women have served for over 200 years and calls for standards based on job requirements rather than gender assumptions. The segment ends by soliciting viewer comments on whether women meeting standards should serve in all roles.
