Every portrait on the politician report cards comes from Wikimedia Commons, which hosts freely licensed media. Many are Creative Commons works whose license asks for credit — author, source, and license for each image are listed here. Public-domain works (most official U.S. federal portraits) require no credit but are listed for completeness. Details are gathered automatically from each file’s Commons record and fill in as portraits are served. Spot an error? Corrections.
Images are served through a same-origin proxy and are not modified beyond the sizes Wikimedia itself provides. Portraits of U.S. federal officials produced by the federal government are public domain (17 U.S.C. §105).
